Dear Friends,

We hope you are doing well and enjoying this beautiful weather. We at KLG enjoy all four (4) seasons, but summer is definitely the best!!  Hanan tools around in his T-bird with the top down, soaking up the sun.  Summer gives us an opportunity to relax and enjoy the long and warm nights. On a perfect summer day, the sun shines, the breezes blow, and the birds sing.

Summer came quickly knocking this year. As described by Ray Bradbury in the Martian Chronicles:

One minute it was Ohio winter, with doors closed, windows locked, the panes blind with frost, icicles fringing every roof, children skiing on slopes, housewives lumbering like great black bears in their furs along the icy streets.

And then a long wave of warmth crossed the small town. A flooding sea of hot air; it seemed as if someone had left a bakery door open. The heat pulsed among the cottages and bushes and children. The icicles dropped, shattering, to melt. The doors flew open. The windows flew up. The children worked off their wool clothes. The housewives shed their bear disguises. The snow dissolved and showed last summer's ancient green lawns.

Below are two blog posts on employment and family law. The first post is called “Prevent Your Divorce? Make Your Marriage Succeed” and the second is “New NJ Wage Theft Law”.

Please let us know if we may be helpful to your friends, your family, or you.  Our primary practice areas remain family law, employment law for workers, estate planning, and general civil and criminal/municipal court advocacy.  If you need a lawyer here or elsewhere in practice areas we do not handle, then we will make appropriate referrals for you, free of charge.

With highest regards,

We often represent clients seeking to dissolve their marriages. That is a significant part of our business and income.  Why would a family law firm ever suggest ways that divorce could be avoided? We care deeply about our clients and want what is in their short and long term best interests (the same high standard…)
It should be easier to collect back wages and benefits owed to you, thanks to a new New Jersey law that went into effect earlier this year. The law also steps up wage payment enforcement and increases penalties for those engaging in wage theft. That occurs if an employee doesn’t get their legally required wages…
