to showcase their expertise, and I encourage you all to participate in and attend these events on behalf of our community.
In addition to all of these exciting events, our community has also continued to accomplish impressive feats of research and scholarship, like Professor Ahmed Louri and his students receiving two new patents for scalable, efficient artificial intelligence accelerator designs, and GW Engineering alumnus Donald J. Evans publishing a piece on quantum computing infrastructure in Homeland Security Today.
I hope you’ll enjoy reading about these and other recent community accomplishments. As always, you can read more about our student, faculty, alumni, department, and university news below, and stay up-to-date on our GW Engineering News & Events page.

A: I’ve been at GW Engineering for 8 years and currently serve as the Director of Graduate Recruitment and Admissions.
Q: What led you to this career?
A: I’ve always been drawn to education, travel, and working with people. Over the years, I’ve worked in undergraduate admissions, graduate admissions, and international student mobility, and my current role is a great blend of all of those things.

| STEM Day with Kimball Elementary |
On March 6, paper airplanes soared across the B1 level of GW’s Science and Engineering Hall while fragile marshmallow towers were built with spaghetti noodles. These activities were part of an exciting visit from 46 students from Kimball Elementary, a STEAM-focused Title I D.C. Public School, during which they dove into science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through these hands-on experiences.
