Max Unger's Customer Service Ensures Travelers Feel Like a Million Dollars
Max Unger (he/him) with Dollar Car Rental made time to help a guest who arrived a little early for their vehicle:
"Max went above and beyond for my rental when I showed up before the rental counter opened. He greeted us with a smile and made us feel like it was completely okay to show up early.
Max found us a great car and treated us like he enjoyed getting to know us. He's very knowledgeable about the area. It was a great experience and I just want to say thank you for the friendly and professional start to our trip."

What's New with PDX Next: Ticket Lobby and D/E Bypass
Ticket Lobby: While crews do framing work near the Southwest ticket counter and TSA oversized baggage area, access to some of the nearby escalators will be blocked. Work hours are 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., but impacts to the escalators will be confined to midnight to 3 a.m. This work continues until Friday, Oct. 6, and a spotter will be present to direct pedestrian traffic around the closed area and to elevators.
D/E Bypass: There will be intermittent closures in the north bypass area starting Tuesday, Sept. 19, through Thursday, Sept. 21, from 1 to 4 a.m. while crews work on the roof. There will be spotters in the bypass to close the area, and access will be maintained to security exit doors. In urgent cases where an employee or passenger needs the bypass, work can be paused.

They're marking the occasion with giveaways and food samples on Concourse B on Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Some of the treats in store include cards featuring Screen Door’s legendary biscuit recipe, mini chicken and waffle samples and live music with Doug Shafer.
Port Painting Now on Exhibit at Portland Art Museum
You might recall seeing Jeremy Okai Davis' work in 2018 when it was exhibited at PDX on Concourse A. Later, it was made part of the Port of Portland's permanent art collection. Recently, the Port temporarily loaned "Hue (Streat)" to the Portland Art Museum for their incredible new exhibition, "Black Artists of Oregon," on view now through March 17, 2024. Read more about the exhibition and the PDX Art Program’s mission to provide equitable access to art that celebrates different perspectives.

Show Your Support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
It’s always a good time to wear pink, but it’s even better to show your support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Once again, the Port of Portland Police Department is going #PDXPink…and you can too! They are offering two options this year – long sleeve t-shirts ($30) and hoodie sweatshirts ($45). Donations from the apparel sale will go to the Pink Lemonade Project. Fill out the order form before the deadline of Sunday, Sept. 24, at 9 p.m.
Large glass windows going into the new main terminal.
PDX in Pictures
In the interest of full transparency, Port of Portland's Dave Stanton shared this behind-the-scenes photo of all the glass going into the new main terminal. With the roof in place, crews are busy wrapping the exterior in floor-to-ceiling windows, moving from the north end of the building to the south. Once the last windowpane is hung, we can seal off the building to control the climate inside. Keep an eye out for great views!
