Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund (KACIF) grants are available to GW students who are participating in unpaid internships that will advance their career.
JULIAN CLEMENT CHASE PRIZE
This annual $1,000 prize recognizes exceptional writing projects focused on the District of Columbia in GW undergraduate classes.The prize honors Sgt. Julian Clement Chase, who was killed in action in Afghanistan after his acceptance to attend SMPA.

CHRONICLE OF HIGHER EDUCATION FALL 2018 REPORTING WORKSHOP
The Chronicle is hosting a series of workshops with student journalists. Learn how to read university tax forms, meet with a Chronicle mentor and perfect your rĂ©sumĂ© and cover letter. The fall workshop will take place from September 6 – 7.

APPLY FOR THE FULLBRIGHT BERLIN CAPITAL PROGRAM FOR JOURNALISM
The Berlin Capital Program, operated by the German-American Fulbright Commission, invites up to 15 young American journalists and students of journalism to Germany to participate in a seminar on current developments in German media and politics. The program is conducted in English and is fully funded by the Fulbright Commission.

Jason Rezaian joined CNN’s “Reliable Sources” to discuss the release of three Americans from North Korea and offer insights into the U.S. withdrawal from the Iran deal and the Americans currently detained in Iran.
April Ryan discussed President Trump's recent tweet about taking away media credentials at the White House on CNN's “Reliable Sources.”
Frank Sesno joined CNN’s “Reliable Sources” to discuss NBC’s internal sexual harassment investigation of Matt Lauer and the impact of President Trump’s threat to take away credentials from press covering the White House. He also appeared on “S.E. Cupp: Unfiltered” to discuss balancing news coverage of policy and political drama.

INMA WORLD CONGRESS OF NEWS MEDIA
INMA is inviting up to 20 SMPA students and faculty to attend the World Congress of News Media for free in D.C. This is a unique opportunity for students and academics passionate about the current and future state of journalism and news media internationally. The conference will feature David Rogers, author of “The Digital Transformation Playbook,” and famed journalist Bob Woodward.
