Dear Undergraduate Student,
We are so excited to have you here and in community with us! I hope your summer gave you the opportunity to connect with others in meaningful ways, to learn a new skill or find a new path in an area of your life, or maybe just to slow down and enjoy the here and now.
Academic years offer the chance to start new paths as well as deepen existing ones. Whether you are still figuring out your major, or excited to do a deep dive into your capstone project, the beginning of the year generates its own, unique energy. This past week we have buzzed along with the first years and all the excitement–and nervousness!–that they bring, and as returning students arrive over this weekend, the academic year vibe will start to take shape.
Whether you are new to our campus or returning to Tufts, I know you have heard about the many resources that are available to support you on your personal and academic paths. You can find all of them on the Undergraduate Resources website, so please explore and bookmark it. And don’t hesitate to reach out to our office if you are still unsure of where to start or what is available.
This year the Student Life team is focusing on strengthening our collective community and relationship building. I think most of us can benefit from a boost on how we relate to each other. We will be working alongside you on this goal. There will be many and different ways to engage and enjoy making connections with others, so be on the lookout for more information!
In the meantime, welcome, and welcome back! Come by the Dean of Students Office in Dowling and say hello or grab some free ice cream and frozen treats.
We are so very lucky to have you here!
