Vox Grata Concert Threads of Joy

7:30 p.m. | Sanctuary
There are days when the world tells us who we should be, when the path ahead feels uncertain, and when we find ourselves walking through valleys we never expected to enter. There are moments of sorrow, moments of loneliness, and moments when joy seems almost impossible to find.
Threads of Joy is an invitation to notice these threads—to follow them through darkness and light, through grief and wonder, through the difficult days and the days that surprise us with their beauty.

The Remains of the Day by Japanese-born Kazuo Ishiguro won the Booker Prize for English-language literature in 1989.  Set in the 1950s, the novel captures segments of British society in the years following the Armistice of November 1918, as well as the Anglo-German relationship of those years. In this character study of the proud country house butler Stevens, readers will realize his doubts about his service, his relationships, and the value of his life.
