This week, we moved into our pets theme and were delighted to find pets all over the classroom!
The dramatic play area was set up as a veterinarian's office, and we made sure to take good care of the animals, especially those we felt were sick.
For art, we painted our pet animals, then gave them a good bath at the water table. We also finished adding touches to our Mother's Day gifts!
During circle time, we practiced our songs for the Mother's Day celebration and also sang Five Little Puppies Jumping on the Bed with props.
On Tuesday, we released our butterflies! That was so much fun!
The highlight, of course, was having our mommies in our classroom. What a treat! We hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day and that you know how very important you are.
Thank you so much for making us teachers feel special this week, too! We loved the coffee drinks, homemade cards, teacher luncheon, teacher dessert bar, flowers, and gift cards. We are so blessed to have such devoted families, and we love you all!
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this beautiful weather!

This week in preschool, we had so much fun learning and celebrating together!
In art, we got the pets muddy by painting them, then washed them clean again. This was a huge hit with the children! They also enjoyed coloring pictures of pets and talking about their favorite animals.
We introduced the letters and sounds B and P this week. The children practiced tracing letters and worked hard on completing beginning-sound puzzles to strengthen their letter recognition and phonics skills.
We also loved celebrating our Mother's Day Tea. The children were so excited to sing their special songs, and it remains a wonderful tradition at Noah's Ark. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a special event.
Lastly, thank you so much for spoiling us during Teacher Appreciation Week. We truly love what we do and feel so fortunate every day to spend our time with your amazing children. Your kindness and support mean so much to us!
Have a wonderful Happy Mother's Day weekend!Β

Our transportation theme got off to a fun start this week.
The dramatic play airport was a favorite spot all week. The children checked passports, scanned tickets, rolled their suitcases, and took turns being pilots, flight attendants, and passengers. There were so many fun and creative inβflight announcements, and they loved choosing where the plane would go next.
During circle time this week, we talked about all the ways people travel by land, air, and water. On Wednesday, we took a little break from our theme to celebrate moms and all the wonderful things they do. The children shared such sweet reasons why their mom is special. We also read Are You My Mother and My Mommy Hung the Moon: A Love Story.
In our small groups, we had fun reviewing uppercase G and H and their sounds, and we continued working on our lowercase letter formation. We also worked on the number 14 and enjoyed finding different ways to show it.
For our process art, we made bright yellow buses. The children tore black, red, yellow, and green paper to create their stoplights. Tearing paper is always a big hit, and it gives everyone a chance to build the small hand muscles they will need for writing.
One of the biggest highlights of our week was releasing all five of our butterflies. We watched with so much excitement as they lifted off into the garden.
Thank you for making us feel so appreciated and loved during Teacher Appreciation Week. We are truly grateful for each of you.
Have a great weekend and a very happy Mother's Day.

What a fun-filled week in Kinder Prep!
We really packed it all in - preparing for the Mother's Day tea, releasing our butterflies, and exploring our Space theme.
Our highlights this week included making rocket ships. We read and discussed what it would be like to go into space. Our science project for the week was a big hit - making moon rocks. We made them on Tuesday, and then used our 5 senses, well, except for taste :), on Thursday when we added vinegar to them. The class watched this chemical reaction happen, and spent as long as they could exploring it!
We focused our math on measuring, sorting, patterning, number sequences, and addition this week. For literacy this week, we practiced our letter formation and sounds for T, U, and V, as well as identifying the beginning, middle, and end of a story and character development.
Thank you to all the Kinder Prep families for showering me with love this week. I enjoyed my special coffee, the notes & pictures from each student, the salad bar, the sweet treat bar, and the generous gift.
I hope you enjoy the sun this weekend, and Happy Mother's Day to all!
