We are excited to announce our Fall 2024 cohort of Early Exploration Scholars.  This new program fosters student connections with faculty mentors. Early Exploration Scholars learn about research opportunities at the University of Utah and receive a $500 scholarship to explore connecting with prospective faculty mentors surrounding research. The program provides opportunities to grow research interests early on in an academic journey.

The Office of Undergraduate Research invites undergraduate students to join us for our Fall Research Tours. Discover innovative work being done in fields like theater, social work, geology, engineering, and more. Undergraduate researchers at the University of Utah are invited to present their research at the Utah Conference on Undergraduate Research (UCUR) taking place February 28, 2025 at Southern Utah University in Cedar City. Proudly represent the U at this statewide conference and see what other research is being done with undergraduates across the state.

Benefits to faculty: a full-time undergraduate researcher is competitively recruited and hired by OUR with programs and activities wrapped around the mentee. 

Eligibility: faculty at University of Utah (tenure-track and career-line) eligible to apply.

SPUR 2025 faculty mentor application is now open and the deadline to apply is Friday, October 4th at 5:00 PM (MST).
