Campus is buzzing with excitement as we gear up for the start of the semester! With classes beginning next week, I hope you're ready to dive into a year of learning, growth and connection. I'm looking forward to seeing many of you at all the Welcome Week activities beginning this week. In addition to events like Commuter Trivia Night and Yoga on the Greens, don't forget to attend your First-Year Student Community Meeting on Sunday if you are living on campus. Check with your Resident Advisor for location and other details.
As we come together to celebrate the start of this academic year, let’s remember that Bobcats watch out for each other. Make respect visible in all you do, whether on campus or in the broader community. Our actions — big and small — define the kind of environment we create together, and I know each of you has the power to make a positive impact.
I’m thrilled to see what this year holds for you, and I will see you soon!

Need a few things for the year ahead? See if you can find what you need secondhand before buying new. Athens is full of great thrifting and reuse options, like UpCycle Ohio, Community Makerspace, Goodwill, Little Wing, and New-to-You. You can access most of these spots via Athens Public Transit.
For the things you did pack and bring along to OHIO, you can recycle broken down boxes and styrofoam during move-in. Look for drop offs and Bobcats Recycle signs around campus, or use the recycling bins at your off-campus residence.

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with yourself and others while discovering resources for support. The display will take place September 3 outside of Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.
