Join the Student Accessibility and Academic Resources (StAAR) Center for a series of workshops aimed at first-year students! These workshops will cover useful academic skills, paired with fun activities. Our first session is "First-Year Kickstart! Envisioning your First-Year," happening on Monday, September 11, at 5–6 p.m. in Barnum Hall Room 100. At this event we will make a vision board, set some goals for this first year, and meet new people! Walk-ins are welcome.

Tufts Global Education's annual Education Abroad Fair brings representatives from over 20 Tufts and external programs to the Medford/Somerville campus. We highly recommend that students take advantage of this opportunity to get a jump-start on their program research. Our short-term summer program in Italy will also be represented, alongside our Tufts European Center (Tufts in Talloires, France, summer program) and Global Research Assistant Program (GRAP) counterparts. Come check it out on Wednesday, September 13, at 11 a.m.–2 p.m. in Alumnae Lounge.

On Thursday, September 14, at 12 noon–1 p.m., join us in person in Curtis Hall or virtually. Extinction is a fundamental evolutionary process shaping Earth's biodiversity for 540 million years. Insights into how the ongoing "sixth extinction" is similar to and different from extinction events of the past can be made by comparing ancient extinction dynamics to estimates of realized and potential extinctions for today's animals. This lecture will discuss these ideas and more.

Join Tufts Global Education staff on Friday, September 15, at 12 noon to learn about the first steps for studying abroad during the 2024–2025 academic year. The meeting will be held in Dowling Hall Room 745A.

Koru Mindfulness® is a FREE four-week introduction to the practice of Mindfulness. You will learn several tools, including meditation, breathing exercises, guided imagery, the body scan and more. Each of these practices are designed to deepen self-reflection, help you manage stress and enrich your life. The sessions meet in person once per week for four consecutive weeks. Attendance at all four weeks is required.
