Megan Richards with Alaska Airlines was nominated by a PDX employee.
"Megan was assisting at a departure gate this morning when a guest using a wheelchair noticed that her Life Alert necklace was missing and was understandably worried.
The passenger said she would leave without it so she didn't miss the flight, and Megan showed care and kindness by letting the passenger know she would look for it.
Megan went back to security, looked all around, then asked TSA if they could look in the area near security. Sure enough, they found the necklace and Megan was able to get it from security to the passenger in time for departure."

Baggage Claim Restrooms: The restrooms near the International Arrivals hallway will close this week. The men’s room will be closed during the day on Tuesday, September 29. The women’s room will be closed from Tuesday, September 29, through Friday, October 2.
Signage will direct passengers to the all-user restrooms located on the north end of the ticketing level.

Concourse C: Through the end of October, the seating area at Gate C7 will be closed. During this time, Gate C3 will return to service with a reduced footprint and ongoing nighttime construction activity.

You've likely heard that employee screening is launching in January 2027. As we get closer to that date, we'll be sharing answers to some frequently asked questions.
Can I bring coffee, drinks, or other liquids through?
Yes! But they need to be in sealed or spill-proof containers. If your beverage isn’t in a spill-proof container, you’ll have to transfer your beverage into one before screening or discard it.

Containers may be opened (with gloves) for testing. You can ask screeners to use fresh gloves before handling food or drinks.
