Chesapeake Foundation of Anne Arundel County
Partnerships make great things happen...
Don't you feel lucky to live, work and play in a county filled with so many great arts and cultural events, as well as beautiful natural resources like the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, state and local parks, and wildlife areas?
Now imagine growing up without the opportunity to enjoy these special events or visit these beautiful places because they are simply unaffordable or inaccessible.
Thanks to the generosity and partnership of a few Fund Holders and donors, CFAAC piloted a new mini-grant program this year called The Access Fund.  The fund provides mini-grants to local nonprofits to allow low-income children and families to experience the richness and beauty of Anne Arundel County.
We partnered with The Arts Council to award our first round of grants through the Access Fund for the Arts.   A total of $4,600 was awarded to the following organizations:
• We Care and Friends for its Summer Concert Series, which brought together diverse communities from across Annapolis.
• All Children’s Chorus of Annapolis to provide scholarships for six low-income youth to participate in the summer chorus program.
• Creating Communities to support the instructors, and purchase robotics and science supplies needed for its summer program
• The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County to support both the Paradox and Art Farm summer programs.
An aditional $4,600 in grants were made from The Access Fund for the Environment for summer programs in our county:

• Box of Rain which offers maritime programs and opportunities for low-income children received a grant to provide transportation for participants to go on field trips as well as transporting the kids and their families to and from the summer awards event.

• Annapolis Community Boating and Annapolis Maritime Museum to provide scholarships for low-income youth to attend their summer camps

• YMCA Camp Letts to provide scholarships for two children from Sarah’s House to participate in the Camp Letts overnight camp.
