Looking to for summer opportunities? Most deadlines for summer research programs and internships happen in winter. Learn about requirements, application process, and incentives when doing research and internships in the summer. Learn about research scholarships and how to submit a competitive application.

UC San Diego Extension Courses

Student Grant Program

A limited number of student grant vouchers are offered to full-time UC students each quarter. Each voucher is good for up to $500 off of one Extension course. Winter 2018 vouchers are available at the Extension Student Services office Nov. 13-17 on a first-come first-serve basis. Check out the Extension course offerings, like anatomy and industrial biotech. For more information contact Laura Fandino at UC Extension.

Amgen Scholars

Summer Research Program Apply by Feb. 1, 2018

Amgen Scholars is hosted at 10 premier institutions within the United States. Each host institution has its own application process. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency in the United States is required, and you can apply to participate at as many host institutions as you are interested in. No previous research experience necessary. Financial stipend is provided for each scholar.

Student Opportunities in Publich Health

Summer CDC Undergraduate Public Health Scholars (CUPS) Program

Six internship opportunities taking place at four partner institutions across the U.S. that offer a public health workplace experience to increase student interest in minority health. 10-week summer programs for juniors and seniors. Start dates may be flexible for students coming from quarter system schools. Contact program staff for assistance with start dates.

Accepted students will receive a stipend to attend, approx. $3,000. In addition, travel and housing costs will be covered.
