Public Use Athletic Fields

Community Meeting on the request from Cornerstone Church for a Rezoning to change a Specific Plan on property area behind church  from Retirement Center to "Public Use Athletic Fields" -  Meeting January 4, 2018, 5:30 pm at Madison Station Fifty Forward
If fields are approved,  I have asked for a regulation rugby field to support the vibrant Nashville Women's Rugby, Nashville Men's Rugby and the Nashville Grizzlies teams who need a place to practice and play in the light when fall hours take hold.  With that request,  I have also asked for an inclusive policy for uses that parallels that of Metro Parks.  What would you like to see, what concerns you?  Come talk with neighbors.

Ground Breaking for Music City Solar

Nashville Electric Service is proud to break ground on Music City Solar, Nashville's first community solar project. Join me in celebration of this historic milestone to bring clean, renewable energy to Middle Tennessee.

"I am very excited about Music City Solar from NES/TVA finding a welcome home in Madison near the Dickerson Pike Skyline area. The 2.8 (MegaWatt) community solar array will also have a lookout and educational panels.  It will be a destination for students and anyone interested in solar energy throughout the Southeast.  District 8 is happy to do its part toward the renewable energy initiative for Metro.  We will also be moving forward with an opportunity to create a Pocket Park with Metro Parks and our neighbors HCA Skyline Hospital near the Historic Bashaw Family Cemetary.
The solar array is expected to generate approximately 2.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity a year, which is enough to meet the average annual energy needs of 210 households.
