2023 Greenfield Scholarship winners chosen

Established through the generosity of long-time librarian Louise Greenfield and her husband, Simon Rosenblatt, the scholarship honors the exceptional kindness Louise's parents demonstrated throughout their lives.

Embedded Librarians support student athlete academic success |
Since fall 2021, University Libraries has collaborated with staff and student tutors in the C.A.T.S. Academics student athlete support program. Peer Information Counselors (PICs) and Librarians from our Student Engagement & Learning department work with C.A.T.S. tutors to assist student athletes to hone their research and writing skills.

Fall finals study break activities at the library wrap-up |
Staff and volunteers across University Libraries helped ensure Wildcats got study fuel, enjoyed downtime activities, and received therapy animal cuddles during the rush of studying for finals.
Additional activities included stamp making and self-care goody bags, movie night, study break snacks, and Pause for Paws with therapy pets from Pet Partners of Southern Arizona.

Sanctuary: Who Belongs Here? exhibition to open in 2024
|
The Special Collections exhibition – Sanctuary: Who Belongs Here? The Search for Homeland on the U.S.-Mexico Border, 1848 to Today – looks at the borderlands through the lens of sanctuary. It asks who has historically been included, who has been excluded, and who has fought for their right and the rights of others to be here.
Sanctuary opens on January 8, 2024.

Zoë Harrison is a Graduate Student Assistant in Special Collections. "I really enjoy getting to dig through the collections. I have a background in history, and getting hands-on experience with historical materials is very exciting," Zoë said.

'Light As Light' poetry reading & book signing with Simon J. Ortiz |
Join us on Tuesday, Jan. 30, to commemorate Simon J. Ortiz’s first collection of poems in 20 years: Light As Light. Ortiz will read from his latest book, followed by a conversation with fellow poet and University of Arizona Regents Professor Ofelia Zepeda.

Access to Health Sciences Library during winter closure |
The Health Sciences Library will be open Dec. 26-31, 8am-8pm for University of Arizona Health Sciences students.
A CatCard is required to enter the building, and all students must leave by 8pm.
