Alumni spotlight
Dr. James Downing has spent more than two decades working to improve the treatment of children with cancer. Downing, who received the 1999 UM-Dearborn Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award, recently was named CEO of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Downing also was a finalist on TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2013. Click here to learn more about why Downing is a Difference Maker.
A landscape legacy
Talk about leaving a legacy. Alumnus Robert Primeau planted 1,600 new plants near campus, thus transforming Clara Ford's former rose garden into a natural, contemporary garden.

Beyond the ball fields
Hayatt Ali is working to bring the state's first health park to Clark Park on Detroit's southwest side. The park will serve as a hub for preventative health activities like yoga, workout machines, a farmer’s market, free meals for kids and health classes.

COB announces tuition changes
For the first time, starting 2014-15, College of Business online courses will cost the same per credit hour as campus-based courses
.
For Michigan residents, this change will reduce the cost of the first eight online credits by almost $250 per credit, or about $740 per 3-credit course, compared to 2013-14.
In addition, while the in-state tuition rate has increased slightly by about 3 percent, there is no increase in the out-of-state tuition rate.
The various fee increases will be nominal, so overall, this will benefit COB graduate students.
In addition, all non-Michigan residents, whether they are taking campus or online courses, are eligible to apply for the Non-Residential Scholarship, which covers 80 percent of the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition.

You can view a detailed tuition and fee schedule
here.
If you have any questions about tuition, fees or the payment schedule, please contact the Office of Registration and Records.
