Spring is on the move. Maple sap is rising, bringing the promise of sweet syrup, while melting snow sends fresh water rushing through streams.
WAV too is getting ready for another favorite spring tradition: welcoming new stream monitors to the WAV network! This year, we’re excited to expand the WAV program into Sauk and Calumet counties through two new local coordinating organizations.
Want to get involved? We’re recruiting statewide! Head over to our Events page to sign up for an upcoming stream training. If you don't see one in your area yet, check back regularly over the next few months as more field trainings for volunteers will be added soon.

There's Still Time to Register for the WI Lakes and Rivers Convention |
Wisconsin Lakes and Rivers Convention
“Decades of Dedication”
April 15-17, 2026
Stevens Point, WI
|
WI Lakes and Rivers Convention is just around the corner! Registration for in-person conference attendance ends on April 5th at 11:59pm CST so don’t miss your chance to purchase a ticket.
In addition to a variety of water focused sessions, convention attendees will also have the opportunity to attend the 2026 Wisconsin Lakes and Rivers Convention Welcome Reception! This informal gathering of water lovers is a great way for newcomers to “get their feet wet,” and for seasoned Convention attendees to reconnect.
Attendees will also be able to collaborate with others during a facilitated conversation on Thursday, April 16th. During this time, attendees are invited to share ideas and ask questions around climate change (impacts and adaptations), impounded lakes, aquatic invasive species, and water quality. There will be moderators to help point you to resources and answer your questions!

|
The convention is open to everyone, from water professionals to folks who simply love Wisconsin's waterways. WAV will also have a table at the convention so stop by and meet us in-person!
This annual convention is brought to you by the Wisconsin Lakes and Rivers Partnership.
We hope to see you there!
