“Hurry up and wait” is an expression used on film sets after everything is set up, the camera is ready to roll, and the crew just needs to wait for the shot to happen.
Feels similar to this new phase we find ourselves in right now. The panic and hurry of those first few weeks has settled into something else. Something that requires a lot of patience, because we don’t know exactly how long it’s going to last, or how many times we’ll have to redo the shot.
We aren’t exactly sure when this will end, or if when this period “ends” and we “start” again, we'll have another outbreak and need to go right back to where we started with shelter in place. Like we just learned from Singapore.
I feel like I'm in some strange film, on a road where no one knows where we are headed.
