GAPC Certification Tips

You have applied, your application has been approved, and you have contacted your chosen auditing firm...what's next? We hope to answer that question and others you may have with a weekly email containing tips, advice and reminders that will help you achieve GAPC Certification in 2018.
This week: What's Next?
  1. Make sure all individuals listed on the Certification Application (Primary and Associates) have attended training.  All Grower ID's listed on an application must have attended 2018 annual GAP training for the farm to be GAPC Certified.  If you have not attended training and need to do so please contact your local Extension agent about the possibility of video training (please note this is not available in all locations).

  2. Complete your self-assessment prior to your Certification Audit.  Click here for tips on completing your self-assessment.

  3. Prepare for your Certification Audit. Review the materials we mailed to you including the GAPC Certification Audit Checklist and the GAPC Certification Standards and Remediation Details. The Standards and Remediation Details document lists the questions that will be asked on your GAPC Certification Audit. These materials can be found here.

In future emails...
  • Worker Interviews: How many and who?
  • I-9’s: Who needs them and what will we be looking for?
  • Wage Statements: What is required?
  • Certification Scoring: How do I know whether I have achieved Certification?

We will also be answering these questions and posting them online for easy access at:
