Timely Reminder about Holds and Spring 2026 Course Registration |
|
|
Dear Student,
We are writing to remind you that registration for Spring 2026 courses will begin next week, and you have one or more holds on your record in SIS that will prevent you from registering for courses. Additionally, some holds may prevent you from dropping or withdrawing from courses this semester and in future semesters as those academic deadlines approach in the next few weeks. Please review your holds in SIS and make sure to address the outstanding item(s) so you can register as scheduled.
Below is a list of common holds and more information about how to resolve each hold. You can review your hold(s) in SIS by logging into SIS and selecting the "HOLD" text from the left side of your student homepage.
|
-
Academic Integrity Tutorial (AIT): You have not completed the Academic Integrity Tutorial required of all undergraduates and SOE graduates. Check your Tufts email for a personalized link to the Academic Integrity Tutorial that was sent to you previously and complete the tutorial. Write to CommunityStandards@tufts.edu when you have completed the course and if you have questions or need assistance.
- Advising: Most students are required to meet with their advisors to discuss course selection for the upcoming semester. If you have not yet met with your advisor, reach out to them to coordinate this conversation as soon as possible. If you have met, please connect with them to release your hold.
-
Current Address Hold: You have not yet verified or updated your current address in SIS. You may use this guide to correctly update your current address or verify your current address is correct.
-
Emergency Contact: You have not yet added an emergency contact in SIS. Log into SIS; on the About Me page, use the pencil next to the emergency contact field to add this information.
-
Immunization Hold: You have not completed one or more of the health immunization requirements. Details regarding the immunization requirements and instructions on how to review your missing requirements or upload vaccine records are available online and in your health portal. Please be advised your SIS record will be updated within three business days of submitting the documentation and your registration hold my be released then if compliant.
- No Major Declared: You have not yet declared a major.
-
No Share Form Submitted: You have not yet submitted your Combined Degree Course Distribution Form to note if you will be sharing courses between your bachelor's and master's degrees. You can find the form online. Please note that the form requires approval from the Director of Graduate Studies and your hold will be released within two business days of receiving that approval.
-
Past-Due Balance: you have a past-due balance for the Fall 2025 term or earlier that needs to be paid before you may register for courses. Please log into your SIS account to review and/or pay this balance. Payment options are available on our website; however, eBill payment is the fastest method of payment to clear your balance.
- Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO): An invitation to complete this training was previously sent from CANVAS to your Tufts email. Your hold will be removed two to three business days after completing the training.
-
Anti-Hazing Training Late: Completion of required hazing prevention training was due in August. Log into Canvas to complete the training, which takes around 20 minutes. The hold will be released one business day after you have completed the training. Write to CommunityStandards@tufts.edu if you have questions or need assistance.
