As the Fall 2024 semester commences at RIT, the Vignelli Center extends a warm welcome. We're excited to recap a few of the highlights from Summer 2024 and provide a sneak peek of our upcoming programming.

| “The 1980s put a nice state of confusion in the mind as well.”
– Massimo Vignelli, from 80s Style Symposium at RIT in 1987
Join us for our next round of Open Houses and travel back to the 1980s.
The Vignellis’ career as designers spanned six decades and the 1980s were one of their most prolific decades. In fact, their archives preserves so much work from the 1980s that both the Fall and Spring Open Houses will be dedicated to the same decade without any duplication!
Join us at our Open Houses to have a look! No appointment required. Stay for a few minutes or stay for hours.

Summer Design Workshop 2024 |
|
|
Over the summer, we held our third annual workshop in partnership with the Corning Museum of Glass. A group of nine designers, including two student fellowship awardees, from various parts of the world studied our archival collections and created Drinking Vessels that reflected the Vignelli’s design principles in their own way. Using sketches and 3D prints from RIT’s newly-constructed SHED, Corning’s master glassblowing team brought each concept to life.
