The Grand Valley Alumni Association invites you to The Meadows Golf Course for our annual Alumni Day on Saturday, July 13! Enjoy time with GVSU friends, supporters, and fellow alumni as we celebrate our alma mater. The day will consist of 18-holes on The Meadows' beautiful course and a delicious dinner to follow.

Muskegon Lake Recovery Highlighted in Documentary by Alumnus

For years, Muskegon Lake in Muskegon County was severely polluted by the various factories and industrial plants that lined its shores. While the lake is still considered an Area of Concern by the Environmental Protection Agency, conditions have improved greatly thanks to efforts of community organizations and funding from a wide variety of sources.

That recovery is highlighted by a short film produced and directed by Grand Valley alumnus David Ruck, '04 & '07, that was shown at a community event at the Frauenthal Theater in Muskegon in May.

Alumni in 10 Interview: Jennifer Dochod '02 & '08

Jennifer Dochod, '02 & '08, is highly involved with Grand Valley as a member on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and by volunteering at various GVSU events. Since graduating, she has become an independent consultant in occupational therapy, as well as an artist. She finds that combining her passions and using art as a therapeutic medium with clients to promote wellness is especially rewarding.

GVSU Earns National Recognition for Helping Latino Students Achieve Goals

Grand Valley was recognized nationally for demonstrating its commitment to serving Latino/Hispanic students and providing tools to help them earn degrees. Excelencia in Education, a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve education outcomes for Latino/a college students, awarded Grand Valley and 19 other higher education institutions the Seal of Excelencia. The finalists will be formally recognized June 20 at an event in Washington, D.C.

Grant From W.K. Kellog Foundation Enables GVSU to Partner With BCPS

GVSU and Battle Creek Public School partnership video

A partnership among Grand Valley, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF), and Battle Creek Public Schools (BCPS) will increase regional access to higher education programming, expanding the path to higher education options in Battle Creek.

The grant to Grand Valley marks the beginning of a strong partnership and vision to increase access to higher education options and build a powerful talent pool locally, and builds on a series of long-term investments to support the economic growth of the region.

Grand Valley State Claims 2018-19 GLIAC Presidents' Trophy

Grand Valley State captured the 2018-19 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Presidents' Cup Trophy, the all-sports trophy awarded at the end of the year to the conference member that demonstrates general excellence in all sports, for the 21st consecutive year. GVSU has won every Presidents' Cup Trophy since the 1998-99 athletic year and has now captured the Presidents' Cup Trophy 26 times in school history.

The U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association announced its winners for the NCAA Division II Men's Program of the Year and the Grand Valley State men's track & field and cross country teams won. Congratulations to these teams!

The Laker Navy ended their rowing season with a bang in Gainesville, GA as they captured national championships in the Women's Novice 8+ and Women's Varsity 4+. The Women's Varsity pair brought home bronze!

President Haas shared at this year's Enrichment Dinner, Grand Valley's annual celebration of giving, that the original Laker Effect campaign goal of $85 million has been exceeded. Great work, Lakers! The university will continue toward a new goal of $100 million or more by the end of the campaign in 2020.
