For next steps, your departmental leadership will create guidelines that are informed by this baseline in the coming weeks, and those department/school/unit guidelines will be driven by your department/school/unit practices and your chair or director. A few things to keep in mind:
- Flexible Work Arrangements (FWAs) will depend on the specific tasks of each position or team and their ability to complete them in remote or hybrid format. The 2021–22 year will be a pilot year for us as we experiment with new work modalities, and we will continue to make changes if arrangements aren’t working.
- We are also still waiting for UT to release documentation on their flexible work arrangement agreements, and we will share that with supervisors and provide guidance on how to implement those documents as soon as we can.
- While we pursue the possibilities of different modalities of work, we are also intentional in our investment in creating a cohesive working community for the College of Fine Arts. We will continue to support department chairs and unit directors in maintaining the on-campus staffing levels that meet their business needs.
Our community’s health is paramount in any of our planning for the fall, and all eligible members of our community are strongly encouraged to receive COVID-19 vaccines as soon as they can to help protect themselves and to help protect others in their families and in our community.
Thank you to everyone for your hard work this past year in keeping our community both safe and productive. We have so many exciting opportunities on the horizon, and I look forward to working with you all as we begin to transition back to campus.
