As we have all become painfully aware, there is nothing short of disastrous food crisis all around us. From our perspective, the need has been building for many months. Even if/when SNAP benefits are fully restored, more than half of those visiting our pantries have never needed help before. Many of you may not know that we have food pantries at each of our locations, and as soon as they are re-stocked with generous donations from folks like you, they are wiped out in a matter of days.
Please consider lending a hand through any—or all—of the following ways:
|
-
❤️ Donate to our food pantries—Help fill the cupboard with the click of a mouse by visiting our Amazon Wishlist, or drop off goods at any of our seven pantries throughout Middle Tennessee.
- 💳 Make a financial contribution—Donating financially is the most effective means of delivering help where it is needed the most.
-
🖐 Volunteer with us—Lending your time to us is invaluable. You can make someone’s day with a smile and help ensure every table is filled with good food and warm memories this Thanksgiving. Check out current volunteer opportunities online today.

Catholic Charities is deeply grateful to Holy Family Catholic Church for their ongoing support of our many ministries that help neighbors in need. Their most recent donation included car seats, port-a-cribs, blankets, clothing, and diapers of all sizes—all much needed items for new and expectant mothers across the Diocese of Nashville who come to us for help.
We'd also like to send another round of thanks to Crye-Leike Realtors in Columbia, TN for their recent donation of food items to the food pantry at our Family Resource Center in Maury County.
Would your community group or work colleagues be willing to do a drive for food, baby items, or hygiene products? All of these type items are available to our neighbors at our Family Resource Centers. We are constantly in need of replenishment. Broadening Access to Clinical Therapy
|
Catholic Charities provides a holistic model of care that includes mental health support and has been a trusted source of compassion and emotional guidance for decades.
Our individual and family therapy sessions offer a safe, confidential space to focus on life changes, strengthen relationships, and foster emotional growth and healing. Services are provided by trauma-informed, licensed therapists, with sessions available in multiple locations. Fees are based on a sliding scale.
To make access easier, we now accept health insurance including Aetna, Cigna, Carelon, Ascension (SmartHealth), Quest Behavioral Health, and Anthem EAP for short-term, professional counseling.

Ribbon-Cutting at C. E. McGruder Center
|
We can finally throw open the doors again to our Family Resource Center at C.E. McGruder in North Nashville—after more than a year of construction. It was delightful to see so many community members join us on November 4 for the reopening of the newly renovated Center. We are thankful to Metro Nashville Public Schools and the Metro Government for upgrading the former elementary school that they lend to us to provide services.
A morning prayer was led by Rev. John Beach, who along with his wife, Mrs. Margaret Beach, have been long-time staunch supporters of the Center. Two other champions, Simone Boyd and Sid Stanley, were honored, for their advocacy and generosity. Special thanks to Mayor O’Connell’s representative Brittany Irby, whose eloquent remarks paid tribute to this iconic community. All of these great friends of C.E. McGruder Center, along with the 75 neighborhood and community VIPs who attended, made this a jubilant occasion.

P.S. If you have been lucky enough to see your investments grow due to a strong stock market this year, please consider donating appreciated stock to Catholic Charities to help families get back on their feet. You can avoid paying capital gains tax while receiving a charitable deduction for the full market value of your gift.
And/or if you will need to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) may also be a tax-efficient way to make a lasting impact on our neighbors in need.
May God bless you and yours during this season of gratitude.
