The SBS DIB Committee is composed of faculty, staff, and students and its purpose is to develop and guide action planning while simultaneously engaging the SBS community in these areas. This experience will give you a better understanding of action planning in higher education, and develop partnerships with faculty, staff and fellow students who are passionate about diversity and inclusion.

Public Health Leadership Lab

The Public Health Leadership (PHL) Lab is a leadership development program that creates opportunities for students to develop a greater understanding of themselves as leaders and learners. Through workshops, applied learning, coaching, and reflection, students learn how to work in teams, how to improve their self awareness, and how they view and engage with others.

Residential (in-person) students can join PHL lab for the fall semester in the participant program, or can stay with the PHL Lab for the full academic year as Concentrators in Public Health Leadership.

SBS PhD Student Professional Development Funds

SBS encourages our PhD students to pursue professional development opportunities (including attending and/or presenting at professional meetings and conferences). In order to support this initiative, we have instituted a new fund specifically for doctoral students in the Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences to help offset the costs of professional development activities. SBS Masters Student Conference Travel Award

SBS encourages our masters students (HSB 45, 65 and SM1) to present their research at professional meetings and conferences. In order to support this initiative, we have instituted student travel awards specifically to help offset the costs of travel to these conferences. Learn more here.

WGH Conference Stipend

Open to all HSPH students to support attendance at conferences that have a gender analysis and health focus. Stipends can cover up to $750 (domestic) and $1000 (international) of expenses to be used for travel, accommodation, incidental costs, and registration.
