There is an URGENT NEED FOR YOUTH LITERACY TUTORS. Elementary school students who struggle to read have fallen even further behind during COVID. Make an early New Year’s Resolution to get involved!

Thanks to your votes, back in June we won a $10,000 rebranding package from Kudzu Brands. We have been working with their team since then to create a new brand that better reflects our new strategic plan and new goals. Stay tuned because we will be revealing our new brand in January!

Our community is getting stronger every day!

Liz, a recipient of our newsletter, donated a laptop. Last week, our ESOL student Irene and her beautiful baby boy came to pick it up! Five students have already received donated computers either through us or directly from their tutors, and many more could certainly use them! If you have a computer, a laptop or a tablet you no longer use, or if you want to donate a new device, please send an email to laura@litcouncil.com. Thanks!

This collection of books was purchased by three Literacy Council donors in memory of one of our tutors. Colorful Pages Coalition chose a beautiful variety of children's books. The books went to Helpmate. We are SO grateful for such thoughtful people!

Three amazing volunteers are restocking our little libraries regularly. If you have books you wish to donate, please send an email to laura@litcouncil.com.
