The Office of Undergraduate Research is hiring: Join our team!

The VPR Office wants to know “Why U Research.” Share why you are part of the U research community and what makes researching at the U great! Whether it's our cutting-edge facilities, beautiful mountain scenery from your laboratory, or the university’s innovative spirit – we want to hear what makes you thrive in research at the U. All responses will be entered into a random drawing for a $50 dollar U bookstore gift card and other U research swag prizes! Survey responses will also be posted in the VP for Research’s Annual Report.

Entries must be from current students, faculty, or staff members at the University of Utah. Submissions are open through August 1. Winners will be selected randomly and will be contacted by the VPR Office via email.

Exciting news! NSF invites colleagues to recognize an outstanding early career researcher in any field of science or engineering supported by the NSF for the Alan T. Waterman Award. Let’s foster a thriving research community by recognizing our mentors!

Nominations open from July 17 through September 15.

The Annual Teaching Symposium hosted by the Martha Bradley Evans Center for Teaching Excellence attracts participants from departments across the University of Utah campuses, including faculty and graduate students involved in instruction (instructors of record, teaching assistants, graders, lab instructors, discussion leaders, etc.). The symposium is designed to provide practical skills and knowledge for excellent teaching in higher education. Join in-person or via zoom.

Join us for the Summer 2023 Symposium this Thursday, August 3 from 9am-12pm at the Alumni House.  You will also be able to peruse the undergraduate research projects that day at https://our.utah.edu/education-events/urs/   

Faculty, postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and staff with research-focused degrees are invited to evaluate undergraduate research posters presented at the 2023 Summer URS. Register by Monday, July 31.  Link for more info and to register: https://ugs.formstack.com/forms/postereval
