February 1 & 2

Rare and Reserved Tasting with 3  Wine Road wineries pouring, as part of the Rancho Mirage Wine & Food Festival on Friday, Feb. 1st, followed by a "festival" on Saturday with 9 member wineries pouring. We also worked in a press dinner and lunch while in Palm Springs.

We began sending out the analysis of three of our recent surveys. Click to review:

February 6

We recorded 3 new podcasts. These included Alice Hunter from Marimar Torres Estate, talking about not only the winery but all of the things there are to see and do in Sebastopol.  Brad Calkins from Visit Santa Rosa, shared his favorite haunts and what guests can see and do in Santa Rosa. Our 3rd episode was with John Viszlay from Viszlay Vineyards sharing what's new at the winery, what to do and where to eat in Windsor.  These are episode 76, 77 & 78. We've been at this for over two years and have now been nominated for another Taste Award.

February 13

Our second task force meeting to discuss Wine & Food Affair 2019. This event will evolve into more of an "experience" adding days to the event and connecting our members with farmers, producers, and makers. We are elevating the event to showcase the entire bounty of Sonoma County.

February 14

Our Valentine gift to you - we launched a NEW website! I hope you have checked it out.  The focus is on experiences, day trips and shining a light on the 3 AVAs that we represent. We will continue to add more day-trips and experiences as we go.

February 25 & 27

Advance ticket sales for Barrel Tasting ended on the 25th. We were busy on the 26th organizing RSVP lists, supplies and getting ready for "supply handout day" on the 27th. This year Barrel Tasting will include not only 6 days of barrel samples, but 6 wineries will be hosting Friday night "Toast the Future" receptions and 2 wineries and 6 winemakers will take part in our "Breakfast with the Winemakers" on Saturday or each weekend.
