Video with Bob Messing from Dell Med about research for Fall 2020
Dear UT Faculty, Staff, and Research Community,
UT paused most research in March when statewide stay-at-home orders were issued, and since that time, I’ve been working with a large team of associate deans and campus experts to develop a phased plan that gradually brings researchers back to campus.
Last week, I had a chance to talk with Bob Messing from Dell Medical School about our process of opening campus back up to researchers this summer. I wanted to know his concerns and thoughts, as both as a doctor and UT researcher. You can see that below.
I know that you probably have a lot of questions or suggestions, and I want to hear them. Over the next week, I’ll be co-hosting town hall meetings on June 11 and June 15 for researchers, including research staff, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows. If you’re not able to join us live those days or if you’re not a researcher but would like to listen in, we’ll be posting the videos and making them available to everyone afterward.
Thank you again for your hard work, understanding, and patience.
Sincerely,
Alison R. Preston, Ph.D. Interim Vice President for Research
