SCHULICH ALUMNI NEWSLETTER
September 2024
| |
| Dear Schulich Alumni,
Greetings from the Schulich School of Business!
Last year was an extraordinary year – and the new academic year is shaping up to be just as remarkable. We've got a lot of exciting new developments taking place at the school:
| |
- We’re launching our groundbreaking new Super Course offering all Schulich students an immersive journey into the world of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- We’re preparing to launch a dynamic new Institute of Digital Business and a new experiential finance lab that will offer students the latest digital finance tools and trading simulations
- We welcomed the largest BBA class in Schulich’s history this fall, and our Master’s programs are experiencing continued growth, with record enrolment in some of the programs.
| |
Our incredible alumni continue to be the cornerstone of Schulich's success. We’re immensely grateful for the overwhelming support from our alumni community. Thanks to your generosity, Schulich raised over $5.15 million last year and helped 462 students with donor-funded scholarships and awards.
To shine a light on the career success and exceptional achievements of our alumni around the world, we’re proud to introduce our new Alumni Excellence Series. Kicking off this new series is a profile of Jasper Cheung (MBA ’90), President of Amazon Japan – a remarkable and inspirational example of what our graduates can achieve. He shares some hard-won insights and advice here.
I’m also looking forward to connecting with our alumni community in Montreal and Ottawa later this month. I’ll be visiting with alumni in Montreal on September 23 and in Ottawa on September 24, and I hope to meet with you while I’m in your city.
One final note: be sure to join us at Schulich on Tuesday, October 1 for the Dean’s Leadership Dialogue featuring one of our school’s most distinguished graduates, Rick Waugh (MBA ’74, Hon LLD ’07). The former Deputy Chairman, President, and CEO of Scotiabank, Rick will share invaluable leadership insights from his stellar 40-year career. You can register for the event here.
As we prepare for the new academic year ahead, I also wanted to share with you a very brief video message that you can access here. And as always, stay connected with me on LinkedIn for the latest updates on news and events happening at Schulich this year.
On behalf of our entire Schulich family – faculty, staff, and students – thank you for helping us maintain our status as a world-class centre for management education! I look forward to the opportunity to meet you in person at one of the many school and alumni events we have lined up this year.
Wishing you continued success,
Detlev Zwick, PhD
