Institute for Documentary Filmmaking alumna Deanna Del Ciello (CERT ’17) was named the DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music & Entertainment Filmmaker of the Month for her work on Queens in Training. She also appeared on “Good Morning Washington to discuss the film.
The 2018 Institute production Boys in the Boat” will screen next month at Awareness Festival in Los Angeles and Bow with Me” was named the Best Student Short last month at the Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards.
Peter Loge authored the HR News article “Managers Should Watch More Football” and the Dumb Little Man article Want to Be Successful at Work? Watch More Soccer.
Frank Sesno joined Hill.TV’s “Rising” to discuss the anonymous New York Times op-ed piece by a senior administration official and was quoted by the Associated Press in the article “Times grants anonymity to administration official for essay.
Janet Steele was interviewed by Voice of America about journalism and nationalism and spoke on the panel Politics in Malaysia at the annual meeting of the Association for Southeast Asian Studies of the United Kingdom.

The nonprofit GW Credit Union Initiative is chartering a student-run credit union to help students bank cheaply, build credit and learn how to manage their finances.

The Credibility Coalition (CredCo) is an effort to develop a standard for third-party markup of stories and their credibility to inform platforms and AI initiatives. CredCo seeks students to annotate articles and assess their credibility. A financial stipend is available.
