Data and Computer Sciences and Italian in Pavia, Italy: Information Session

Join Tufts Global Education staff on Monday, October 24, at 12 noon in Dowling Hall Room 745B for an information session about the summer program Data, Computer Sciences, and Italian in Pavia, Italy. This program is designed for all students with an interest in Computer Science and Italy, with its rich history and culture. No background in Italian language or Computer Science is needed.

Global STEM – Academic Planning Information Session

Tufts Global Education invites students from the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) disciplines to join us on Wednesday, October 26, at 12 noon–1 p.m. in Anderson Hall Room 208 for an informative session on how to academically plan for a semester abroad. Join Jennifer Stephan, dean of Academic Advising and Undergraduate Studies for Engineering, and Tufts Global Education staff for lunch and next steps on how to integrate studying abroad into your educational plan.

Environmental Justice in an Age of Upheaval

On Thursday, October 27, at 12 noon–1 p.m. at Curtis Hall Multipurpose Room, join cultural anthropologist David Bond for a lecture on the pursuit of justice within a complicit system and the ability of anthropology to build common ground in an age of upheaval. The talk will also explore two case studies of how COVID-19 withdrew government oversight of many dirty industries and the local response. Free pizza will be served! Co-sponsored by the Environmental Studies Program and the Department of Anthropology.

Careers in Diplomacy: Featuring the State Department

Interested in pursuing a career in diplomacy? Curious about State Department paid internships or fellowships or Foreign Service officer test? Want to use your language skills to serve as a Consular Fellow? All majors welcome – international affairs, languages, business and finance, computer science, engineering, IT, and more! On Thursday, October 27, at 4 p.m., U.S. Department of State's Diplomat in Residence for New England Michelle Kayser will share information about careers with the Department and how to prepare a strong application.

Tufts Sustainability Industry Night

On Thursday, October 27, at 6 p.m. on Handshake, please join the Tufts Career Center, the Office of Sustainability, and the Department of Environmental Studies for a unique opportunity for Tufts students to meet professionals from a wide variety of organizations whose mission and projects/programs focus on sustainability in environmental, social, and economic realms.

Engineers interested in internal transfer to Arts & Sciences for the spring 2023 semester are invited to an information session on Monday, October 24, at 12 noon–1 p.m. on Zoom. Learn about the process, criteria, and graduation requirements. The session will be recorded for anyone unable to attend.

Intent to Study Abroad Deadline: November 1

If you're considering studying abroad in fall 2023, spring 2024, or the full year 20232024, the deadline to submit your Intent to Study Abroad Form is November 1, 2022. This is a mandatory step in the process; students who do not register their intent by the November 1 deadline will not be invited to the application phase of the process and will become ineligible for further consideration. Registration of intent is non-binding; however, you must submit if you are considering studying abroad.
