THE ST. B'S WEEKLY

CONNECTING WHO WE ARE TO WHAT WE DO
May 11, 2022, Eastertide
Our 4th-6th graders are amazing. Last Sunday, they held their first-ever “Love and Serve Fair.” After weeks of research, they began a conversation with adults in our parish about how to love and serve our neighbors. They even baked treats and raised close to $300 for our St. B’s ministry partners. Our kids want to continue to pray and act for those experiencing food insecurity, issues related to homelessness, and those who are new to this country. Please pray for our kids and start a conversation with them- you’ll be glad you did!!

WE WANT TO KNOW YOUR STORY!
Parish Survey Opens May 22

As we prepare to call a new rector to St. B’s, we need a clear portrait of who we are and where we are headed. Starting on May 22, you can be a part of creating this larger picture by filling out a survey that will help us understand the range of views and ministries. Your input is essential.  Because we are a vibrant and growing church, we want to accurately depict areas of vitality and places for growth.

If you receive emails from the church, we will send you a link to the online survey. Hardcopies will be available from the front office. It’s important that all members of the household who are 18 & over take the survey.  We want to hear all voices.

Thank you in advance for helping build St. B’s future. If you have questions about the Rector Search, email chairs Gretchen Abernathy and Brian Roark at rectorsearch@stbs.net

SACRED MUSIC CONCERT
Sunday, May 22, 4 p.m.

Mark your calendar for a celebration of Sacred music. There will be choral and instrumental music as well as congregational hymns. The concert will be followed by a reception in the garden. Childcare for 4 years and under is available with an RSVP by Wednesday, May 18 to nursery@stbs.net. We must have at least two RSVPs to provide childcare.
PENTECOST PARTY
Sunday, June 5

Start looking in the closet for something red to wear because our annual Pentecost Party is on! Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 5, the Feast of Pentecost, the day when we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the church. The party begins with worship at 9:30 a.m. (one service only) and continues in the garden following. We will have red balloons for the children, strawberry shortcake, games, face painting, music, and more!
JOURNEY TO THE SEA OF GALILEE
June 21 - 23, 9 a.m. - Noon

This June, St. B’s children will become “citizens" of 1st century Galilee. They will learn about the way Jesus lived and the things he did in that region of Israel. It takes a village to turn the playground into Galilee! We have lots of ways to help with varying levels of time commitment. Please email Meredith to learn more.

REGISTRATION: Registration for Journey to the Sea of Galilee is open! This experience is recommended for children who are rising Kindergarteners to rising 6th graders. Register children or teen/adult volunteers >>>here.

FOR THE RECTOR SEARCH

Almighty God, giver of every good gift; look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a rector for St. Bartholomew’s that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
