Morocco is Still Open
Karim Fehry Fassy, founder of Alizés Private our Marrakesh-based Morocco DMC, appeared on CNN and in The Washington Post following the earthquake. Karim assures us that 98% of the country remains fully operational and life is back but that Morocco still needs your support.
A message from Karim:
"We are your local advisors, and as such, our duty is to advise you on whether you can or cannot send travelers to Morocco. Today, the reality is that certain areas/quarters in the old medina of Marrakech are damaged, and unfortunately, many villages in the High Atlas Mountains have also been destroyed. However, it's important to note that 98% of the country remains fully operational, including airports, hotels, restaurants, museums, and gardens, to name a few. So, yes, travelers have nothing to worry about when traveling to Morocco today.
We kindly request your support by advising and reassuring your clients to continue traveling to Morocco and demonstrating your solidarity with a country that critically depends on tourism. We are witnessing an unprecedented wave of solidarity from the entire population, regardless of their economic status. People are flocking to supermarkets to purchase and distribute food, medicine, and essential supplies. Additionally, the government and civil organizations are providing exceptional assistance to those affected across the country."
