Thank you to our Front Line Staff

Our dedicated and skilled front line staff continue to provide hospice care throughout this pandemic and will continue to do so in the future. We hope you enjoy the video below which illustrates how much teamwork was needed during the intense period of COVID-19 while providing the best hospice care possible.
We are very fortunate that our staff and volunteers are committed to our mission of honoring life, giving care and bringing comfort to those who need it most in our community. #Rockland_Strong #Orange_Strong #TheLastFrontLine
UH Thanks Front Line Staff

Congratulations to Cara Pace,
our new CEO
!

After 32 years of dedicated service, we said goodbye to our long time CEO, Amy Stern on June 12th. We wish Amy the best of health and happiness in her retirement!
Cara Pace, MPA was appointed UH’s first Chief Operating Officer in April 2019 and immediately made a positive impact on improving the culture, effectiveness and efficiency of the organization. Cara succeeded Amy Stern as our new CEO on June 15th. “I am so impressed by the incredible dedication, professionalism and skill of UH’s workforce.”
Cara has spent much of her 27 plus year career working in the nonprofit, healthcare, and government sectors. In her brief tenure with UH, Cara successfully secured a $1 million grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation to expand our services to the Hispanic/Latino and underserved communities beginning in 2020.

Congratulations to all our Team and Individual Winners for the 2020 Virtual Walk to Remember!

We finally wrapped up the 2020 Walk To Remember in person with a few of our biggest supporters! We appreciate each and every one of you who participated and showed United Hospice your incredible resilience for helping us to continue to do the important work we do for the community we love.

The beautiful setting in the photos and in our introductory video is the Nature Walk at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence built one year ago to provide a peaceful, comforting place for patients and families to enjoy nature.

Volunteer Spotlight
UH is very pleased to shine the spotlight on Sheila Hayes who volunteers at UH with our Bereavement Services team. Thank you Sheila for your continued support!
"I have been a volunteer at United Hospice for almost two years. I function as a facilitator in the Healing Hearts program and make monthly phone calls to people who have lost a loved one on Hospice care. I recently became involved in their crisis intervention program. After losing a son, and two parents who were blessed by Hospice care, I have found volunteering at United Hospice very rewarding to give back to others who have lost a family member."

As with nearly all nonprofit celebrations, our 2020 Gala will be a virtual experience, and what an experience it will be!

Our local Front Line Heroes will record a brief, fun video combined with a live stream presentation full of surprises.
All of our favorite components remain: a beautiful auction, pre and real time voting for your favorites, a virtual and printed journal and an all around entertaining program featuring the heroes who never faulted in their dedication to our community.
