April is Support WYSU MonthHelp us celebrate 51 years of public radio in the Mahoningand Shenango Valleys!

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, WYSU has been your "Need to Know" news source for local, regional, and national updates; and our music continues to provide inspiration and comfort. We are committed to bringing you the news and music you want, but we can only do that with your ongoing generous support. Please renew or enhance your annual contribution to WYSU today.
Due to a continued severe reduction in staffing, restrictions on volunteers in our office, and concern for the well-being of our staff and students, we will again be holding a “soft” donor drive throughout the month of April, encouraging your online contribution HERE. Throughout April there will be no interruption of programs, simply reminders about how important listener support is to our mission.
To encourage your timely contribution, ALL early gifts we receive this spring will be matched! GIVE NOW
Since 1969, our commitment to providing extraordinary and stimulating programming has been equaled by our listeners' faithfulness in supporting this treasured public radio service of northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Please generously renew your yearly contribution to WYSU to help this unique community asset continue to thrive for many years to come. We appreciate that support, and hope we can count on it this spring!
Contribute today - mail in your renewal, or give on-line.

Are you listening to…? IT'S BEEN A MINUTE WITH SAM SANDERS • SATURDAYS at 4:00 PM

"It's been a minute" is another way of saying "let's catch up." Host Sam Sanders does just that every week with two guests in a conversation about news, culture, and everything. Not just what happened each week, but how it felt. Plus, deep dives — conversations with one guest, or on one topic. The world is complicated and people are, too — and sometimes you just need to talk it out.
Sanders joined NPR in 2009 as a Kroc Fellow, and since then has worn many hats within the organization, including field producer and breaking news reporter. He's spent time at three Member stations as well: WUNC in North Carolina, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and WBUR in Boston, as an intern for On Point.
Sanders graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School in 2009 with a master's degree in public policy, with a focus on media and politics. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, with a double major in political science and music.
In his free time, Sanders runs, eats bacon, and continues his love/hate relationship with Twitter.
Join us for It's Been a Minute Saturdays at 4:00 p.m.

Start Your Spring Cleaning with A Free Tow From WYSU-FM!

As you're springing to get rid of household items this season, don't forget about that old vehicle taking up space in your garage. WYSU can take it off your hands and turn it into the public radio programming you love! We accept cars, trucks, RVs, jet skis, motorcycles, and boats as a form of support.
Here's how it works:
- Call 855-277-2346, or complete our online vehicle donation form available HERE. Our Vehicle Donation Support Team is available seven days a week and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
- Schedule Your Free Pick-up! We arrange to have a licensed tow company pick up your vehicle at a time convenient for you—all at no cost to you.
- Your old vehicle is sold at auction, we receive the proceeds, and you could qualify for a Tax Deduction! Vehicle donations are tax-deductible, and we work to get the highest return per vehicle for us and for your tax benefit. In most cases, when the driver arrives for your tax-deductible gift, you'll be provided with the donation receipt. You will be mailed a thank-you letter within 30 days of the sale of the vehicle, which also serves as a donation tax receipt.
We are committed to keeping vehicle donors safe and healthy during pick-up! We want to assure you that we take the health and safety of you, our drivers, and our associates very seriously, and we are closely monitoring the developing effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Our vehicle donation program is currently open and operational. We are still able to pick up vehicles, however, please be aware there may be delays. We have also requested that our program drivers to do their best to practice safe and secure interaction with our donors, including minimizing contact. Thank you!
