Labs will sometimes continue using equipment for years or decades past their prime.
This can be great for sustainability, but eventually you must ask: is this equipment so old it is no longer 1) reliable and/or 2) saving you money and energy?
Learn more about when to retire equipment, and consider sharing equipment with other labs or groups instead of replacing when possible!
|
| If you are retiring equipment, be sure to clear decontamination with HSE and ensure it is recycled appropriately
