Neil Teller and Tamara Bumpbell Impress with Stellar Service
When travel plans are disrupted by unforeseen circumstances, having PDX People on the other side of the counter is a relief. By offering kind and efficient service, Dollar Car Rental's Neil Teller (he/him) and Tamara Bumpbell (she/her) earned this letter of appreciation:
"During our trip to Portland, we experienced an unexpected illness. This resulted in a lot of changes to the plans we had made it was overwhelming. We appreciate how friendly and easy-going Neil was during the process. He made everything easy for us!
We also want to comment on the employee at your exit gate. It was a long trip, and our kids were having major meltdowns. Your attendant Tamara gave each of them a very sweet, beaded trinket that she had been working on. She was so very kind and understanding. This trip was memorable for many reasons, and your employees Neil and Tamara really stood out."

What's New with PDX Next: Roof Work and Impacts, Restroom Closure, RCC Route Update and Taqueria Merced Vacation
Roof Work: Starting today, the use of tar will begin on the newly installed roof cassettes. This may cause some odors during work hours: Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. To help reduce any smells inside, crews installed air filters and adjusted air intake systems. Roof work is weather-dependent, which might affect hours and active days. This work will continue for about a year.
Roof Impacts: As we move on to the next roof cassettes, expect impacts in the ticket lobby from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday. Delta, American, Frontier and JetBlue will shift their counters to alternative common use locations. Keep in mind, roof work is very dynamic, and these dates could change.
Restroom Closure: On Wednesday, Sept. 21, restrooms by Gate D2 will be closed from 3 to 4 p.m. There will be signage directing passengers to the closest alternative.
RCC Route Update: Demolition and remodeling of the former rental car lobby begins this week. As a result, the pedestrian walkway on level one of the short-term garage will close on Tuesday, Sept. 20. While construction is underway, the entire plaza area will be inaccessible for safety, and a walkway from the terminal will remain open for elevator access only. The best route between the terminal and the RCC is through the south tunnel.
Taqueria MercedTaqueria Merced is on vacation starting today until Monday, Oct. 3. When they return, you'll find them on the south end of the lower roadway, near pick up area one.
