Be Knowledgeable: Don't Skip Employee Screening
You may have noticed that TSA and Covenant Security periodically hold surprise screenings in the B/C and D/E security bypasses, as well as other public-to-secured access points. If you’re approaching one of these areas and see a screening taking place, you must follow through with the process. Sure, it’s tempting to turn around, but that’s not allowed, even if you’re in a hurry. Failure to follow through may be labeled as refusing screening and could result in a security violation or even in badge suspension. Thanks for your help keeping PDX safe and secure.

PDX Honored with Fast Company's 2025 Innovation by Design Award
Fast Company’s 2025 Innovation by Design Awards honor those who are pushing the boundaries of design with projects that make our world a better and more interesting place, and PDX made their list. Every year, the magazine’s editorial staff assesses each application on questions including: "What problem does the design solve?" "Does the design make sense?" "Does it make a difference in its users' lives?" and "Is it thoughtfully designed?" PDX, they determined, is serene and has the sensibility of a forest, all while serving as a point of local pride, accommodating growth, factoring in new seismic considerations, and hitting sustainability goals. Read the article for more reasons why Fast Company thinks PDX deserves the win.

Take a moment to explore the flavors, sounds, and stories that shape Hispanic culture. Whether it’s through food, music, art, or history, there’s always something new to discover and appreciate.
Here are a few ways to join the celebration around Portland:

Business Insider: Why Everything at Airports is So Expensive (But Not at PDX!)
Did you know that in 2024, U.S. airports generated over $1 billion of revenue from purchases like $6 bottled water, $27 beers, and $10 Chex Mix? And (most) airports are only getting more expensive, in part because there’s little competition inside the terminal – much of the food and retail is operated by a few big companies. In this 17-minute video, Business Insiders explains the "mall-ification" of airports, the inconsistency behind regulating street pricing – and with a little help from Port of Portland Chief Aviation Officer Dan Pippenger starting at 13:30 – how we do it differently at PDX.
