Move-in Day is almost here, and we’re excited to welcome your student back to campus! Know that the Division of Student Success offers more than 25 departments dedicated to preparing your student for lifelong success. Below are some important reminders as you prepare for Move-in Day.

Returning Student Move-in will take place on Fri., August 21, Sat., August 22, and Sun., August 23. Visit the ResLife website for more details. Contact Residential Life with any questions about housing assignments or move-in.

All full-time, degree-seeking WashU students are required to have health insurance. They will be automatically enrolled in the university's health insurance plan and an annual premium charge for this coverage will be applied to their account. This plan runs August 1, 2026 - July 31, 2027.

Students may submit a request to waive this insurance by September 5. This waiver must be submitted annually. For approval, current insurance coverage must meet the university's specific criteria. Contact the Student Health Center with questions about health insurance.

Move-in is a busy time on campus. Plan ahead and learn more about dining location hours and tips to navigate meals during this busy time by checking the Dining Services website for the most up-to-date information. Most campus orders are now made through the Grubhub app. If you do no not have the GrubHub app yet, download the Grubhub app now to stay on schedule and enjoy your meal!

Student can attend the On-Campus Employment Info Sessions to learn about on-campus employment and attend the On-Campus Employment Fair to network with WashU departments that are recruiting now and in the future for paid on-campus positions.

Some families may choose to arrive in St. Louis before their student’s assigned Move-in Day. Families may use that time to go shopping for last minute supplies, explore St. Louis or enjoy a family meal at a local restaurant. Plan your visit first by visiting Explore St. Louis. 

Parent & Family Weekend 2026 will be held October 30-November 1 and offers events and activities for students and their parents and families.
