We'll continue to publish the weekly CALS Connect (for undergraduate students) and the monthly Master the Month (for graduate students) but, for the time being, you'll also receive this Daily Digest Tuesday through Saturday.

Grade Replacement Opportunity (GRO) After Spring 2020
We acknowledge this is a time of transition. Know that you are not alone in navigating academic decisions; your Academic Advisor is your GPS to the University. Ensure you are communicating with them to review all available academic support options. It is valuable to know all your options to help you make an informed decision. Further information and regular updates can be found on the Office of the Registrar’s Office Spring 2020 FAQ page.
What is a Grade Replacement Opportunity (GRO)? - An opportunity for undergraduate students with less than 60 University of Arizona earned units, to retake a course and have the new grade calculated into your GPA. The only courses you can GRO are graded courses that you received a C, D, or E. Your previous attempt of the course will still be shown on your transcript but not calculated into your GPA.
- This is a student initiated process that goes beyond enrolling in the course again. Learn more about the process from your Academic Advisor.
- Review the GRO policy, read The Truth about GRO and schedule a meeting with your Academic Advisor.
Can I start a GRO now? If I take a W, do I have to file for a GRO in the future? - You can only GRO classes in which you received a grade of C, D, or E. Therefore, if you withdraw from a class, you forego the opportunity to GRO that specific class because you would not have a valid letter grade.
Can I GRO if I switch to a P/F now and find out that I need a letter grade later? - You can only GRO classes in which you received a grade of C, D, or E. Therefore, if you switch a class to P/F you forego the opportunity to GRO that specific class because you would not have a valid letter grade.
After this Spring 2020 semester I will earn over 60 units, can I still GRO? - No. GRO is only available for undergraduate students who have earned less than 60 units.
