Updates from Kerry Graham, Chief Executive Officer
|
As I get ready to officially jump into my new role as CEO of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Nashville on June 1, I’ve got a lot of people to thank for encouraging me to get here. And for the staff, volunteers, and the church community who have so warmly welcomed and been patient with me as I listen, learn - and ask a lot of questions.
When this opportunity first found me (and it did), I think what appealed to me most was the idea of being able to practice my faith and help others for a living on all those other days between Sundays. Because in the context of the Diocese’s goal to help our Middle Tennessee neighbors in need - and ultimately help them get to a place of self-reliance - these are the days that count.
For me, this was never a job. It is truly a calling.
It’s early, but I’m already inspired by the committed people around me who have a similar sense of purpose here. I look forward to witnessing the life-changing results of their hard work in person.
Finally, thank you for your support and for the role each of you plays in bringing love, hope, and healing to our neighbors in need. It’s important work, and you make a difference.
Warm regards,
Kerry Graham
Executive Director

When “Terence C.” first connected with our Catholic Charities Family Resource Center in Putnam County, he was at a turning point. After coming to Tennessee on a football scholarship and earning his degree, he made the difficult decision to step away from the game to support his growing family.
With a new baby and no immediate employment, Terence turned to us for help. There, he received food, baby supplies, and short-term financial assistance while enrolling in the Families First program. Although initially hesitant, he committed to moving forward—attending financial literacy classes, connecting with the American Job Center, and actively pursuing work.
With determination and continued support, Terence secured employment that led to a supervisory role, bringing stability and renewed confidence to his family. Today, he looks ahead with hope, grateful for the support that helped him take the next step forward.
Stories like Terence’s are made possible through the generosity of our community. Financial donations help our Family Resource Centers continue providing critical support and empowering families to build a better future.
