Dr. Zachary P. Nahmias named Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity's Man of Distinction
INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Brother Zachary P. Nahmias, Gamma Mu (University of Memphis) 2010 was recently honored with ZBT’s Man of Distinction Award at the 2018 International Convention on July 14, 2018, in Los Angeles.
ZBT's Man of Distinction Award was created to honor those brothers who reach the apex of their various involvements. These men, through their life's work, exemplify the teachings of Zeta Beta Tau's Ritual and the commitment they make, as brothers of ZBT, to better the communities in which they live.

Currently based in Watertown, New York, Brother Nahmias has supported the fraternity for years. He was honored at the 2014 International Convention at the most Outstanding Founding Father for his efforts in bringing back the Gamma Mu Chapter at the University of Memphis.

Brother Nahmias serves on our Supreme Council and is an advisor to multiple chapters, including his alma mater. He was chapter president of his chapter as well.

“I was honored to be recognized as ZBT Man of Distinction in 2018. I joined ZBT in 2006 and the values the organization placed in me have encouraged me to become the physician I am today and to help my fellow man in whatever way I am called. Thank you to ZBT for fostering in its membership a sense of service and brotherhood of man,” Brother Nahmias said.

Professionally, he is the Director of Dermatology at Samaritan Medical Center in Upstate New York, the youngest person ever to do so. Recently, he completed an HIV medical mission trip to Botswana near South Africa.

“Zach is a true mensch.  From his dedication toward re-establishing the Gamma Mu Chapter at the University of Memphis to his impressive academic background to his rise to become secretary of ZBTs Supreme Council, Zach has always given 100% to everything he has done for ZBT. The Man of Distinction Award goes to the very best of ZBTs and Zach is certainly well deserving to be part of this elite group of men,” said Chief Executive Officer Laurence A. Bolotin, M.Ed., CAE, Alpha Zeta (University of Florida) 2001.
Gifts in honor of Brother Nahmias may be made to the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation. Learn more about the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation at zbtfoundation.org
