Farewell to the Resilient Farms & Families Newsletter |
Dear Resilient Farms & Families Community,
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the sunsetting of the Resilient Farms & Families Newsletter. Over the past few years, this monthly email has been a valuable resource for supporters of agriculture, including organizations, service providers, stakeholders, and associations. We’ve covered a wide range of topics related to farm stress, mental health, and community resilience. Our collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection’s Farm Center and other organizations in the farmer wellbeing sphere has provided quality and consistency to the newsletter. We will continue to collaborate to provide timely and relevant farmer wellbeing information for the Wisconsin agricultural community, through events, articles on our website, and popular media outlets.
|
Throughout its journey, our newsletter has explored critical themes affecting farm families and rural communities. Some of the past topics include:
|
-
Managing Farm Stress: We’ve delved into strategies for coping with the ongoing economic challenges in agriculture. From financial stress to market volatility, our articles aimed to provide practical advice and emotional support.
-
Building Resilience: Our contributors shared stories of resilience, highlighting the strength and determination of farm families. Whether it was overcoming adversity or adapting to change, these narratives inspired us all.
-
Health and Wellbeing: We’ve emphasized the importance of mental and physical health. Articles covered stress management techniques, self-care practices, and fostering strong relationships within farming communities.
|
While the newsletter is bidding farewell, our commitment to supporting farm families remains unwavering. Going forward, we’ll continue to share valuable articles, resources, and updates on our website. You can find these at Resilient Farms & Families: Responding to Stress.
We encourage you to subscribe to our other UW-Madison Division of Extension newsletters from our Agriculture Institute. We plan to partner with these e-newsletters so we can periodically share new farmer wellbeing resources with a wider audience throughout Wisconsin.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your engagement, feedback, and dedication have made the newsletter a success. Let’s continue to stand together, supporting one another as we navigate the challenges and joys of rural life.
If you have any questions or need further information, feel free to reach out to me at joy.kirkpatrick@wisc.edu.
