Coming up this week at StAAR! On Monday, September 22, at 12 noon–1 p.m., join us for Note-Taking Strategies for Lectures and Seminars. In this workshop, participants will learn new strategies for taking notes during lectures or when reading and studying. This event takes place in Tisch Library Room 127.

Tufts Global Education, in cooperation with the School of Engineering and the Program of Italian Studies, has created a five-week summer program in Pavia, Italy. This program is designed for all students with an interest in computer science and an eagerness to learn about Italy, with its rich history and culture. No background in Italian language or computer science is needed. Join us on Monday, September 22, at 12 noon–1 p.m. in Dowling Hall Room 730A to learn more.

Join The London School of Economics Summer School and Tufts Global Education on Tuesday, September 23, at 12 noon–1 p.m. at Dowling Hall Room 745A to learn more about attending summer courses at LSE! TGE staff will explain the Tufts Independent Summer Registration and transfer of credit processes to help you successfully navigate an independent summer study abroad experience. Join us on Friday, September 26, at 11:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. in Gantcher Center for an opportunity to connect with over 140 employers representing a wide variety of career fields. All Tufts students of all majors, first-year through graduate students across Arts & Sciences, Engineering, and SMFA at Tufts, are invited to attend. Employers will discuss internships, co-ops, and entry-level jobs. Wear business casual attire and bring your Tufts student ID card. No bags, please.

Kick off this academic year right and join Tufts University's 3rd annual Day of Service on Friday, September 26! Volunteers will meet promptly by 1 p.m. at 51 Winthrop Street/Breed Memorial Hall for check-in, a brief speaking program, and a group photo. All supplies and instructions will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle and wear sneakers and Tufts gear. There will be snacks, water and fun raffle prizes from local businesses, and limited free t-shirts.

Have you checked in with your pre-major/major advisor recently? Now is a great time to reach out to them with an update on your semester or with questions about your current courses and planning for future semesters.

This is also a great time to check in with your A&S, Engineering, or SMFA advising team. Additionally, students can stop by drop-in advising with any quick questions about advising, courses, or academic requirements.
