Separation anxiety tips from Victoria, product deals, & more...
Hello, Fellow Dog Lovers!
Spring is here! I've had an amazing month, although this time of year is always one of the busiest for me. Many of my wonderful licensed trainers joined me in Atlanta for the annual VSPDT Conference, where they (and I!) continued their dog training education. I can't tell you how much I love having all these incredible trainers gathered in one place together.
I'm also excited about a new deal in the Positively store for the month of April that's specifically geared towards thunderstorm-phobic dogs. Also this month, we're talking about our #poopandtell campaign, a great stress-reducing tool in Adaptil, a new viral video featuring rescues and puppy mill survivors, advice for moving with pets, and more. As always, you'll find exclusive content and training tips that you won't find anywhere else. Hope you enjoy!

Poop and Tell
Have you shared your dog's #poopandtell story yet?
Our pups have a knack for doing their business at the most inopportune times. So we want to hear about the most embarrassing place your dog has ever pooped! We've had some hilarious submissions, and our favorite picks will win prizes from Positively and our friends at Earth Rated, makers of the world's most awesome poop bags.
Best Behavior Adapatil
Best Behavior Adaptil
Adaptil is one of Victoria's favorite dog training tools, as it helps relieve the stress and anxiety that can cause unwanted behaviors like excessive barking, chewing, and soiling in the house.
Adaptil works by mimicking the "canine-appeasing" phermone that dogs know from birth. It's a fantastic tool for pet parents and pet professionals who are working with dogs that suffer from stress, anxiety, fears, and phobias. It's effective for stressful situations your dogs may encounter, like new people, loud noises, and being left alone.
Get Leashed
Get Leashed
VSPDT Renée Erdman discusses why it's so important for all dogs, even those that are well-behaved, to be kept on a leash except for designated off-leash areas.
If you have a dog, you have likely experienced this scenario. You are walking your dog, on leash, and all of a sudden an off-leash dog comes straight towards you. You have nowhere to go. If there is someone around, they are likely saying ‘My dog is friendly’ or perhaps nothing at all.
What if the dog on leash is reactive or is training and wouldn’t appreciate a strange dog bombarding them? It’s an all too common occurrence, and it shouldn’t be happening at all.
Are you guilty of the “lazy leash syndrome”?
Cutest Rescue Puppy and Kitten are Best Friends
Ruggles and Chompers
This ridiculously cute video of a rescued puppy mill puppy and his kitty friend has gone viral!
Ruggles and Chompers are two tiny friends who have amazing stories. And they couldn't be more adorable! Ruggles is a tiny shih-tzu who was rescued from the puppy mill bust last year that Victoria helped with. His kitty friend Chompers was found by herself under a porch when she was only two days old. The two became fast friends

Moving with Pets
Stress-Free Moving
Positively Contributor Rachel Sheppard discusses ways to keep your pets stress-free while moving.
It's that time of year! For Sale signs are popping up all around your neighborhood, and it's out with the old, and in with the new!
Although starting fresh in a new place can be exciting, moving is a very stressful event. Some pet parents forget that moving is equally as stressful for their pet.
Moving days include guests, potential strangers, noise, and opportunities to escape.
Therefore, I would like to discuss 6 ways to make your moving experience easier and safer for your pet.

Positively Podcasts
The Positively Podcast is back with a new season! Victoria and Holly are covering all the hottest topics from the dog world, and answering your dog training questions. Listen here.
The key to working with a dog with separation anxiety is to desensitize them to your departure cues. Pick up your keys, put on your coat, grab your purse, then put them down and don't leave the house.
Practice this over and over again until your dog stops making the association between you doing those things and then leaving the house.
