Hello colleagues! We may have a new name, but we are still (mostly) the same. We are still here to provide support to GVSU faculty in their research and creative practice. Our units include the Office of Research Compliance and Integrity, Office of Sponsored Programs, Technology Commercialization Office, and the Johnson Center for Philanthropy. We look forward to continuing our work with you and providing the great services you've come to expect.

New Website
Along with our new name comes a new look. We have upgraded our website to the new CMS 5 platform. If you have links to CSCE in any of your materials, please double check that they are not broken.

New Grants!
We have done a lot of work with FTLC to better align our offerings to faculty, and make them more concise and predictable. We will have more information to come, but to begin, we are excited to announce the changes we've made to dissemination and mini grants:
• Faculty Travel Support Grant: we have expanded the Dissemination Grant to include any travel related to your research and creative practice. It is now called the Faculty Travel Support Grant. Faculty may apply for one of these $600 grants per fiscal year.
• Momentum Fund: we have re-imagined the Mini Grant and are calling it the Momentum Fund. This is a more competitive grant than the Mini was, but the award has been raised to $2,000! Faculty may apply for one per fiscal year.

We are "Pivoting" to SPIN
OSP is in the process of upgrading our searchable grants database subscription from Pivot-RP to infoEd’s SPIN. For those of you who are devotees of Pivot, your access ended on June 30th, 2026. We expect to have SPIN up and running by the end of July, and we’ll share updates and instructions over the summer.
