"I am absolutely delighted that Isaac is joining the PSU campus and bringing his deep experience and knowledge of human resources,” said VP Kevin Reynolds.  “His extensive board and community involvement, as well as teaching at PSU demonstrate a longstanding commitment to higher education, Oregon, and the Northwest.  I also want to thank Pam Hutchins for her extraordinary career contributions to PSU and for her willing and highly effective interim leadership of Human Resources."

Web Time Entry Inclement Weather Guide
Due to the inclement weather we encountered last week, the HR website has special time sheet instructions for SEIU Represented Classified Employees.  To learn more about how to record the closure day and late starts, visit this link:
Special Time Sheet Instructions
Inclement Weather Procedure
As a public entity and residential campus, PSU is open for business every day of the academic year, except for recognized holidays and other periods of official closure. From time to time, however, weather conditions are sufficiently extreme or hazardous such that operating the University would jeopardize the life safety of our students, faculty, and staff. When this happens, the University will respond in one of two ways:

1. PSU will open late or close early, based on weather conditions; or
2. PSU will close completely, canceling all classes and events and providing only essential services.

Notification of Closures:
It is the responsibility of each employee to find out if a decision has been made concerning closure or delays in opening the campus. PSU will only notify the community if a decision has been made to close the campus entirely, delay the start of the business day, or close the campus before the end of the business day. If foul weather impacts the start of the day, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the community of this decision by 6:30 a.m. If foul weather requires action later in the day, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the community by 3:00 p.m. Notification will be made using a variety of media, including:

- The PSU ALERT system: This will be the primary communication channel for closure notifications. Please take this opportunity to update your PSU Alert contact information. Updating your information is simple: log into Banweb, select Personal Information, then select PSU Alert Emergency Notification System, update your contact information, and click submit.
Things to Remember:
  • Your W-2 will become available by January 31st 2017 online through your Banweb account. To access it when it goes live in January, go to (Banweb >Employee Services > Payroll Tax Forms > W-2 Wage and Tax Statement.) An e mail will be sent letting all employees know when W-2's are available online, typically around the 4th week of January.
  • PSU offers a safe and secure electronic W-2 through Banweb. No need to worry about your confidential information and Social Security Number getting lost or stolen. Simply log in to Banweb (Employee Services > Payroll Tax Forms > Electronic W-2 Consent) to enroll.
  • On December 1st, SEIU Classified employees received an across the board salary increase of 2.25%.  Article 21, Section 1(B).
