GOODBYE TO THE PERMIT ESTIMATION GUIDE (PEG)
|
Beginning in January 2024, the Permit Estimation Guide, also known as PEG, will no longer be an available resource. The decision to discontinue the application has been heavily influenced by the City's commitment to providing the best services to our customers.
Please stay tuned for announcements on PEG's replacement, and for other updates on what we are doing to improve our resource offerings.

| RE-INSPECTION FEES NOW APPLY
|
The Sugar Land City Council approved its 2024 annual ordinance outlining the updated fee structure for various city services. This revised schedule encompasses modifications to fees associated with permits and inspections, namely the reinspection fee.
As of October 2023, any reinspection required as a result of a failure to pass an initial inspection may result in a $55.50 fee.

NEW BUILDING CODE ADOPTION COMPLETE
|
The City of Sugar Land has completed its adoption of the 2021 International Code Council (ICC) and the 2020 National Electric Code (NEC) under Ordinance 2320. Building code compliance will now be certified using these newer models.

| VIRTUAL INSPECTIONS AVAILABLE
|
Virtual Inspections are currently available for water heater permits, with even more options on the way! For a more convenient inspection experience, choose the virtual option (if available) when scheduling your next inspection.
