RESEARCH BEHIND THE AMAZING BENEFITS  OF ASSISTED LIVING
It is not unusual for families to procrastinate in their search for Assisted Living for an older relative, either because the older adult does not want to  leave home or because they have a negative perception of Assisted Living.

Data from a new survey from senior living referral service "A Place for Mom" suggests that the majority of older adults and their family caregivers experience measurable increases in the following areas after a move to Assisted Living;
Benefits for Older Adults
Quality of life 75%
Nutrition 73%
Social Well Being 64%
Emotional well-being 47%
Physical health 44%
Benefits for Family Caregivers
Personal quality of life 60 %
Relationship with the older relative 50%
Level of stress about the older relative 64%
Levels of health, diet and exercise 32%
The survey results clearly show that staying in the home is not advantageous always  for aging seniors. Making the decision to move to an Assisted Living facility where meals are served, medications are administered, and friends are nearby actually improve a senior's health and quality of life.  Please contact Linda Kirkner at 540.443.3415 about the Assisted Living options available at Showalter Center and Kroontje Health Care Center on the Warm Hearth Village campus.
